    alaska cruisin’…canada eh?

Yet another set of photos from my cruise last year. This set is from day six when we went up into Canada to the Klondike Suspension bridge. This (the featured image) is also one of the only photos with me in it from my camera (the other lovely ladies in the featured image are my mom, my aunt, and one of my mom’s best friends). I am quite proud of myself. I am absolutely terrified of heights, so crossing that bridge was not high on my list of things I’d want to do. But I did it. I may have held on tightly to the sides and repeated the mantra,…

    out for a stroll

I don’t do outdoors. But every now and then I get the urge to go for a stroll and ‘commune’ with nature. Usually these little adventures are spurred by my desire to take my camera out and capture some photos. This past Saturday I went out to one of the many nature parks in the area and took a walk on one of the trails. In being out in nature, I remember why I don’t do outdoors. There were so many bugs flying around and the mosquitos ate me up. It was not ideal. But when I got home and looked at the photos I got, I was satisfied. I…

    alaska cruisin’…Tracy Arm Fjord

I want to get better at this posting thing, and apparently it’s been almost two months since my last post. Here’s a new one for you. I went on a cruise last July, and I still haven’t finished posting all of the photos. Part of the reason for that is that I’m forgetful. There was one day of our journey where we spent most of the day on the ship cruising through the Tracy Arm Fjord. It was magnificent, serene, and cold. The coldest days of our vacation was when we were cruising through the fjord. What is a fjord? A fjord is a long narrow inlet of the sea…

    into alaska…ketchikan

this heart of mine was made to travel this world Ketchikan, Alaska. This was the first stop of our Alaskan Cruise. It’s a small city where .70 of every dollar earned is from tourism. Apparently, it’s also the ‘Salmon Capitol of the World’. We took a duck boat tour and learned a bit of the history of ‘Alaska’s first city’. What’s a duck boat? This is a duck boat. It is a vehicle that can travel on land and drive right into the water. The whole thing was quite surreal but fun at the same time. While in the water, we saw so many eagles. And they posed perfectly. It’s…

    vacation…part one

if given the chance to travel, always take it, Last October I put a deposit down on a cruise to Alaska, and this trip was worth every penny. The last time I went on a proper vacation–not to see family, but to see the world–was October 2013 when I went to Hawaii. So this July cruise was long overdue. The photos below are my favorites from the first full day of my vacation. We spent the day on a bus tour of Seattle before we boarded our ship, the Emerald Princess. I might have fallen in love with Seattle just a little bit. I can’t wait to go back one…

    nc botanical garden…

Since I accidentally let my domain name expire a couple of years ago, I get to re-share past photo excursions. This set is from July 2016 when I decided to explore the NC Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill. It’s a set that I look back on and I can’t believe that I did this. I love these photos so much! I hope you enjoy them too.

    i went for a walk…

A couple of weeks ago I did that thing where I grab my camera an stroll through nature. I spent maybe a half an hour walking the trails through this nature preserve that’s located about 10 minutes from where I live. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed the scenery. Who knows? I might be becoming an outdoors person… Below are photos from my little excursion.

    puppy power

Last Friday my boss gave us the afternoon off in the form of a team outing to a nearby park. One of the best parts of the whole day (I think) was the cutest puppy ever who came to hang out with us, Sir Wellington. Needless to say, a ┬ádecent number of my photos from the day were of Sir Wellington. Once you take a look at the photos below, you can’t deny he is the cutest little English Bulldog you’ve ever seen!
