There is a video from the early 80s that my grandfather recorded. It has my great grandfather proudly pointing out the vegetables growing in his garden. While he was alive, my grandfather also maintained an extensive vegetable garden.
Unfortunately, I can not keep anything alive. Put a plant in my hands, and try as I might, it eventually dies. I did not inherit any gardening skills. My aunt, on the other hand, has a small garden she plants every year. And it thrives each year.
I spent last week in Alabama with my family. The first day I was there, I took my camera out to my aunt’s backyard and took some photos of her garden. For a glimpse into her gardening prowess, take a look at the photos below.
