Next week is another holiday, so I decided to post some of my favorite photos from the last American holiday– Fourth of July.
Growing up, my cousins and I spent many summer days and nights swimming in my uncle’s pool. Now that we’re all adults, and some of us have kids, things have changed. What hasn’t changed is how much fun we all have around my Uncle’s pool.
It’s crazy to think that this pool has entertained our family for over 20 years. It’s the pool where we made whirlpools, where we were thrown in by my crazy uncle, and where we didn’t care if the water was clear or not. It’s the same pool my cousin and her husband jumped in after saying their vows and partying with our family and friends. And now, this pool is hosting a second generation of cousins and acting as the center of new memories. Just thinking about it is wild.
This set of photos makes me nostalgic for the nights where my brothers, cousins, and I would slide down the yellow slide and test out the never ending supply of broken, ineffective goggles. I’m grateful to be able to watch my little cousins make new memories around the old pool.
