The sky is beckoning. It’s calling me away to some distant land. I have the time, now if only I had the funds to cure this desire.
I’m in the process of renewing my passport, and I really want to actually use it at some time. I want to go back to Europe. I’m hoping that my job will see fit to send me on a bit of a tour to make sure our in-country offices know what the hell they’re doing. But that might not happen.
Traveling makes me happy. Being immersed in different cultures makes me happy. One of the things I enjoy about my job is working with the different offices around the world. When I first started, I was working with the teams in Europe. I took a bit of a break from the international work for about a year and a half before I started working with our counterparts in Latin America. Now, it seems, I might be working with Europe a bit more again.
I’d love to go back to Europe and offer some more in-depth training. But traveling for work can be a bit of a chore. Most of the week I’m in the office all day with no chance to get out and see anything.
I’d also like to take a vacation somewhere too. But flying around the world is expensive, and so are hotels. I have quite a bit of vacation time left to schedule for the year. I’m thinking October is when I’ll use some of that time. I’m already going to Florida for Thanksgiving, so I do not know how I’d even afford to go over seas (or on a cruise).
That’s all. Nothing significant here, just the musings of a woman with wanderlust.
