Here it is, February, and I’m still talking about my goals and resolutions for the year/life. One of the things that I keep saying I want to do is to travel more, do things I’ve never done before, and see things I’ve never seen before. I started on this goal last year around Christmas.

I’m a North Carolina native–born and raised–and I’ve ridden/driven through Asheville too many times to count in the 28 (almost 29) years of my life. One thing I’d never done, was visit Biltmore Estate. So I took a couple of extra days off of work and actually stopped in Asheville so I could go to Biltmore Estate. And I don’t regret any of it.

I plan on going back there again, maybe in the summer or spring, when there aren’t as many people around. The property was breathtaking, and the mansion was more incredible than I could have possibly imagined. I feel like the word ‘mansion’ is too small to describe Biltmore House. To think of all of the things they were able to accomplish in 1895.

All of these photos were taken and edited with my iPhone 7 because I didn’t feel like lugging my camera around. I took so many pictures because every floor, every corner presented something picture worthy. By the time I got back to my car, my phone was almost completely dead. The composition of the photos are lacking, but I still think they came out well enough.

Be on the lookout for part 2, featuring lots of plants!
