I decided 2018 is going to be the year of a better me both physically and mentally. A big part of that is adding exercise into my routine. I know, I know. Everyone says that is their resolution each year. But I don’t want this to be just a ‘resolution’. This is something that has to happen.
In 2016 I bought a FitBit. I jumped on the bandwagon; I wanted to challenge my friends. And I used it for a while. It was good. I ventured into the cold; I took walks outside. Then one day I realized my FitBit was nice, but I wanted to be able to look at my watch and know what the weather was (I got my FitBit before they came out with a real Apple Watch contender). To further my disappointment in this fitness tracker, the thing came apart, not once, but twice. So that was the end of that experiment.
All of that is to say, that for the past two years I’ve wanted an Apple Watch, and I finally bought one on Monday (my mom would say I spent too much on it, but that’s neither here nor there). And I know a piece of technology can not replace discipline and drive, but it does help encourage me to keep moving.
Just look! I’ve had this for three full days so far, and each day I’ve reached my exercise goal (green ring). It’s not much, but baby steps right?! I’m loving my watch. And i’m determined to keep this up. I mean this fun new toy did cost me an arm and a leg…
I’m going to the theater today, so I might not reach my exercise goal but maybe I’ll finally close that red ring. I’ll keep you updated.
